Design Thinking has become the rage with corporations and innovation junkies. Most of the legal industry has no idea what it is and how it can dramatically improve the practice and business of law.  Some firms and organizations have explored process improvement techniques, but few have combined that discipline with design thinking.  Others, who espouse the principles of design, have not been able to demonstrate how it is actually applied to the business of law firms to help them compete and grow – no matter their size.  This audio conference will focus on the principles of Business Design, using a case study of how a small law firm used design to reacquire a lost client and position itself to compete in a challenging market.  Joshua will share his thinking on how process improvement and business design can provide a deeper and more effective understanding of the client experience.  Joshua will cover the following topics.

  1. Overview of design thinking
  2. Case Study: Walking in the client shoes
  3. Leaning into Legal Design
  4. Innovating with design tools and techniques
  5. How to add client value with design thinking
  6. The future of design thinking in the legal arena

Understanding how to put these techniques into play in a practical and meaningful way for practitioners and those supporting the practice of law will be invaluable.
