A Letter from the Editors

LPT Highlights the “Best of” and Brightest in a Different Summer

As we approach the midway point of a strange and most difficult summer, the Law Practice Today (LPT) Editorial Board thought this would be a good time to look back at the last year and highlight some of the best content from our monthly themed issues.

The LPT Editorial Board is composed of volunteer members of the ABA Law Practice Division who devote their time as issue editors and “brainstormers” to put out high-quality editions of the webzine each and every month. Thank you to all who contribute as board members and authors.

This month’s issue also features all-new “Meet the Managing Partner” and Women Rainmaker columns. Next month, we’re back “live” with our Human Resources issue, followed by our Diversity edition in September.

A Platform for Our Profession

What makes LPT great and unique is that it provides a voice to ABA members and friends that are interested in authoring articles that relate to the business of law. With a relatively short turnaround time, LPT provides our readership with the most current content possible. The LPT e-mail hits the inboxes of hundreds of thousands of attorneys and law students on or around the 15th of each month. In addition, thousands of attorneys receive LPT through our syndication program to state and local bars and related legal associations. But it is actually through search engines like Google and organic search that articles are accessed and read online for months and years after initial publication. LPT is an opportunity to reach millions of eyeballs. If you’ve thought about contributing in the past but were not sure how to go about it, please take a look at our pitch submission guidelines—and submit a pitch.

We’d Love to Hear from You

One of the most satisfying things about serving as the Editors of LPT is hearing from our readers. If you have any comments, concerns, or editorial ideas, we’d love to hear from you. We also could not produce LPT without the enormous guidance and day-to-day work from the ABA LP staff and our copy editor. Thank you to all our readers and advertisers for their support of LPT.
